2021 MLB Predictions

My friends Hanspostcard and Dave did this in the past few days. I’ve never been good at this but I’ll give it a shot. This will be my first attempt and we will see what happens. I read over Fangraphs, pecota, and just the eye test.

I think the Braves could surprise some and  win the NL. I also think the Yankees have a lot question marks and unless everything goes perfect I don’t see them making the World Series. Although I’m a Dodger fan I honestly think they are the most balanced and stacked team in the MLB this year…of course that only means they will probably lose.

I think the White Sox will gel this year and make some noise.

  2. Good picks! You’re not that different than the rest of us with most of your picks, but there’s a reason for that… there seems a clearer delineation of talent this year in most divisions. Still, I bet there’ll be surprises…just knowing what they are is the trick (or they wouldn’t be surprises.) LAD should win it all easily, but it’s a long season AND there’s the repeating club curse…. now they are THE team to beat in every series, other teams will put just a bit more into winning against them just for bragging rights.

    1. Thanks Dave it’s no telling how many I have wrong lol… I have a feeling about the Sox…White that is…that talent may come together this year.

      Oh I expect the Dodgers to lose this year…on paper they are great…but that doesn’t mean a thing.

      1. it would be interesting to go back about 20 years and see which teams that were the dominant favorite at the start of the season actually won the WS. I’d guess probably a little under half. The White Sox have a lot of young talent plus Abreu etc. I don’t think Keuchel will repeat his ’20 performance though, but still, in that division I think they’ll come up on top.

    1. I wouldn’t mind seeing the Dodgers and Yankees…of course I’ll take the Dodgers and anyone else…but that would be a good one. Atlanta is the team I’m most worried about.
